Fancash is the dressed non-object.
The ashtray—an object so present in cityscapes yet invisible to the eye. It lingers in countless environments, unnoticed, uncelebrated. Why has the ashtray remained a mere afterthought? Why is it designed only to serve function, never to stop time, never to elevate the act of smoking itself?
Society has conditioned us to accept ashtrays as minimal variations of the same indifference. As if the ritual of smoking is undeserving of beauty. But smoking is pleasure. A moment stolen from time, not rushed by it. The ashtray should not be given to the user as a concession—as if it is some reluctant offering. It should exist as an object of desire, not obligation.
FANCASH is born from this defiance. Inspired by the way glam dresses the body, we sought to dress the non-object—to give the ashtray the same consideration we give to skin, fabric, and adornment. Because at the end of the day, who is using the ashtray? The human. And no object that touches human hands should be anything less than extraordinary.
